In a more and more competitive and specialised context, technology plays a key role for every company. Not only investing in equipments, communications devices and software is a must, but also high levels of service quality, availability and security are a requirement for the systems providing services to the organization, and all this in an ever changing environment. Every day, more and more companies are shifting to the out-tasking of all or part of their IT related areas, realizing the advantages they can obtain:
- Labour liabilities are freed in areas that are not part of the "core business" of the company.
- Own personnel technical obsolescence, and the need for frequent retrainig are avoided.
- Highly specialised consultants are available for specific jobs, at a fraction of the cost of in-house employees.
- Service cost is indexed to Service Quality, which is measured on the base of objective and standardized metrics.
- Investment decisions (HW adquisition/upgrade, software version changes, etc.) can be based on statistical, objective data, and not only in "sempsations".
Comunytek has a large experience in out-tasking of IT areas for quite different companies. Service scope is usually fitted to the specific Customer characteristics and requirements. Usually, a selected team of Comunytek systems technicians work at the Customer's premises attending the daily operational tasks, while a shared "pool" of specialised consultants provide their experience for special interventions, being them planned or not. The Project is usually deployed by phases:
- Current situation analysis and, eventually, recommendations about infrastructure improvements.
- Procedure and Action Plans edition, based on Comunytek's standards, and adapted to specific Customer characteristics and requirements.
- In tight collaboration with the Customer, edition of a "Service Quality Metrics Programme", including baselines and allowable deviations, and metrics to cost conversions (bonus/malus).
- Service run-up in a stable manner. Monthly edition of reports (metrics control, inventories, incidents, external costs, etc.).
- Periodical re-evaluations (once a year, twice a year), possibly including proposals for improvement or adaptation of infrastructure, procedures, Metrics Programme, etc.
